Businesses that operate without trash compactors often encounter a variety of challenges, including overflowing dumpsters, frequent waste pickups, and rising disposal costs. These problems not only lead to logistical and operational difficulties but also contribute to sanitation concerns that can negatively impact the overall atmosphere of the business. Overflowing trash can attract pests, spread unpleasant odors, and pose a threat to public health. In addition, open dumpsters may encourage unauthorized dumping, which adds further to the cleanup costs and complicates waste management procedures. These issues can result in increased operational inefficiency and environmental strain.
Trash compactors provide a comprehensive solution to these problems by compressing waste into tightly sealed bundles, dramatically reducing the volume of trash. This reduction in waste volume means fewer pickups are required, significantly lowering waste disposal costs. Businesses can also streamline their operations with reduced frequency of waste collection, allowing for smoother day-to-day activities. Moreover, the use of trash compactors helps businesses comply with environmental regulations by minimizing landfill contributions. The ability to compact waste reduces the strain on landfills and helps promote sustainability.
In addition to reducing operational costs, trash compactors offer environmental benefits. With fewer pickups, businesses can help decrease the number of garbage trucks on the road, leading to a reduction in carbon emissions and contributing to a cleaner, greener planet. The compactors' enclosed design ensures that waste is securely contained, preventing odors from escaping and improving the overall hygiene of the workplace. By adopting a commercial trash compactor, businesses can enhance both their waste management processes and their commitment to environmental responsibility, creating a more efficient, cleaner, and sustainable operation.

Dear Mr. Markle,
I have been working in the Plant Operations of Hospitals for the past 20 years. During that time I have had the responsibility of maintaining various autoclaves for the treatment of biohazardous medical waste.
When I came to Doctors Medical Center a year and a half ago I found myself in charge of maintaining a Mark-Costello Co. autoclave that was nearly eight years old. After my past experience of trying to keep a high vacuum system with consistent problems in operation, I find maintaining the Mark-Costello gravity fed autoclave a pleasure, as there is seldom a malfunction. I attribute this to the fact they have kept the design simple with no need for highly technical maintenance and high dollar repair parts.
As a point of information, the Model we operate is a AS 512 equipped with a unique “pull out drawer” making it easy for the Housekeeping Staff to load. This unit has a capacity of approximately 750 lbs. per cycle.
We expect to keep our Mark-Costello autoclave in operation for another 8 years or longer !
Dear Mr. Markle:
San Ramon regional Medical Center has owned and operated a Model AS46 Mark-Costello Medical Waste Sterilizer for the past eight years. We are pleased with performance of this equipment and have had a fine working relationship with the Mark-Costello Company. The system continues to function well and allows our facility to avoid the liability and high cost of packaging and hauling untreated infectious waste.
We Anticipate several more years of operation from this waste treatment system

“We have been very pleased with the performance and the cost savings that the trash compactors from The Mark-Costello Company have provided to our school district.”
My name is David E. and I am responsible for a Mark Costello Co. Auto-Clave, at an inflight Kitchen out here in Kona Hawaii, that is overseen by the USDA / Custom and Borders, federal inspectors. (as you can imagine that is a challenge in its self).
The products that Mark Costello Co. is producing are of good quality. The auto – clave that I am responsible for works 24/7, with very few break downs. This is the only unit available in Kona, making daily operation is critical.
It is nice to know that when I call for tech support and parts, the courteous staff always responds promptly. Being out here in the middle of the pacific, that is crucial to our operation.
I would highly recommend Mark Costello Co.
A commercial trash compactor is a heavy-duty machine used to compress waste materials into smaller, more manageable sizes. It helps businesses reduce the volume of trash they generate, making waste disposal more efficient and cost-effective. These compactors are ideal for environments with high trash volume, such as restaurants, hotels, and factories.
A commercial trash compactor uses a hydraulic or pneumatic system to press waste materials into a compacted form. The machine has a compaction chamber where trash is loaded. When activated, the compactor compresses the waste, significantly reducing its size. The compacted waste is then stored in a container for easy disposal or recycling.
Using a commercial trash compactor offers several benefits, including reduced waste volume, lower trash hauling costs, less frequent trash pickups, improved sanitation, and more efficient use of storage space. It also helps reduce environmental impact by enabling easier recycling of compacted materials.
Commercial trash compactors can be installed both indoors and outdoors, depending on the available space and the waste disposal needs of your business. Many businesses opt for compactors in service areas or waste disposal zones, ensuring easy access and maximizing convenience while maintaining cleanliness in public spaces.
Commercial trash compactors are designed to handle various types of waste, including paper, cardboard, plastic, and general trash. Some models are also capable of compacting organic waste, food scraps, and even specific materials like glass and metal, depending on their features and strength.
How do I maintain a commercial trash compactor?
