One of the standout themes at recent expos has been the evolution of on-site medical waste treatment systems. Medical waste is no longer just a logistical issue—it’s a cost, compliance, and risk management challenge. Facilities now need smarter, more efficient, and environmentally responsible ways to handle infectious waste. This includes compact autoclaves, AI-enhanced segregation systems, and energy-saving disposal technologies. At past shows, hospitals, urgent care centers, and research labs have shown increased interest in systems that eliminate their reliance on external hauling. These facilities are looking for solutions that not only help them meet CDC and OSHA standards but also reduce downtime and handling risks. Could an in-house sterilization unit help your team eliminate waiting periods for pickup? Is your staff trained to handle regulated waste in a way that minimizes exposure? As a leader in the field, The Mark-Costello Co. showcases innovations that combine high-performance sterilization with ease of use and low energy demand. These are not concepts—they are functioning systems already installed across 600+ locations in the U.S. and abroad. Do you know how autoclaving compares to incineration in both environmental and financial terms? Are your waste records currently automated for audit-proof reporting?
